30 seconds doesn’t seem like much time. But, in just 1/2 of a minute, a lot changes.
Think how much we can now accomplish online in just 30 seconds. The infographic below takes those activities and adds them all up to show a composite of all the Facebook ‘Likes’, video watched, and even the sales at Amazon.
This is important to note as our lives are becoming more and more engaged by online opportunities to share information.
One stat that did not make the list is Online Learning. Either for traditional academic purposes or for training employees in engaging online environments. online learning has grown in popularity and is a major component to activity taking place online. Learners are using tablets and smartphones to stay involved in the eLearning process and building informal knowledge repositories.
I will request that online learning activities be added to this infographic.
While I do not have stats for the entire industry, I know that at any given 30 second period there can be 10 million users of the TOPYX social learning management system. There can be countless courses taken, connections made, comments in communities and job task learned as well.
How has your internet consumption changed over the last year? Will you be online more or less this year?
It is amazing how far our society has incorporated online resources to our daily lives (as I ironically write this blog). It is becoming harder to imagine a time without such information at our fingertips. It make me excited for what is yet to come.
