TOPYX was recognized as the top emerging LMS to watch by Brandon Hall Research in the July 2010 edition of Chief Learning Officer magazine and was named the Editor’s Choice of the 2010 ASTD International Conference and Exposition.
Our social LMS now has an embedded content authoring tool (yes, it can create HTML5 content). We have enhanced our mobile offering and have more great upgrades around the corner. Also, we are still offering you a complimentary 30-day trial site if you request a short, personal demonstration. Interactyx Recognized as Editor’s Choice at ASTD ICE 2010
A lot of buzz has been stirring over the last year about social learning. ASTD’s Tony Bingham opened this year’s event with a social learning message and a new book. The message: Social learning is not going away. Our own research proves this out with 77% of respondents using or planning to add a social learning solution for enterprise learning.
On the vendor side, we saw companies promoting social learning solutions as integrated solutions to their learning systems, as a layer that could be added to your current LMS, or as a standalone program. Some of the standouts come from Interactyx, Blackboard, Learn.com and JamBok (formerly Sun). Each has its own approach and level of integration with the LMS, and may dictate your best solution.
Social eLearning Software with Embedded Content Authoring Tool
We are proud to announce that Interactyx Limited has partnered with Udutu Online Learning Systems Inc. in order to combine two award winning services into one great social eLearning software offering. TOPYX® is an affordable eLearning software as a service (SaaS) solution with integrated social learning, mobile learning and eCommerce functionality; fulfilling the modern eLearning needs for any size business, academic institution, or association. Being recognized as Best of Elearning! Magazine award and one of Top Five Up and Coming LMSs by Brandon Hall, the TOPYX eLearning platform has been further improved with “one of the best kept secrets in eLearning authoring tools¹”, Udutu’s myUdutu course authoring tool.
What’s HTML5?
The HTML5 situation is something that greatly effects how we make, position and distribute content. As you know, this issue has come to a head with the conflicts between Apple and Adobe. But, what is HTML5 and why is this important? According to our guest blogger, Craig Weiss (http://www.elearninfo.com/), here are some points you need to know…
eLearning Software Enhances Mobile Collaboration
Collaboration may be the hot term of the decade, yet true collaboration has always been a difficult concept to implement…until recently. The rise of eLearning software over the last several years has provided businesses, nonprofits and academic institutions a platform for genuine collaboration.
As defined by thefreedictionary.com, collaboration means, “to work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort.” At this basic level, the idea of collaboration is ideal for any organization, and the benefits include saving time and money, improving knowledge, increasing innovation and more. Collaborative eLearning software is the platform by which these benefits are realized.
Social Learning & Social Media – Brothers in Arms
Is it me or does it seem that most vendors in the LMS/LCMS market still believe that with some smoke and mirrors, you won’t realize that social media actually must be integrated into social learning for it to exist? Or do they just drop the word, “social media”, and rather say, “social learning and web 2.0″? Or, how about “social LMS“?
After all, many have a blog, wiki, RSS feed, a Facebook like page, with profile, inc. an image, friends can connect and see comments – sort of like a Twitter and the end user can tweet within the LMS”.
Social Learning for Associations and Non Profits
Over the years, eLearning has helped many organizations overcome some of the challenges by allowing widely distributed members and volunteers to attend classes through various online tools. This has been progress in many respects as it overcomes the time / location factor allowing attendees to participate / view courses remotely, in some cases “on demand” in terms of pre built and courses and course content.
One drawback however of many online programs has been the lack of social learning, the ability to truly participate, collaborate and engage with others in a course, almost as if you we’re in a live classroom. There are available and affordable, eLearning software solutions for associations and nonprofits.
